Synopsis for "Bearing Gifts"

A man of faith, Mr. Al-Dabagh, returns to his shop at a late time. He is soon confronted in his shop by a woman named Miss Zim'Et, who looks to pick up multiple items for her pregnant sister. Suddenly, Mr. Al-Dabagh is threatened by muggers but are mysteriously turned away by Miss Zim'Et's strange abilities. Zim'Et soon leaves, not wanting to leave her sister alone. Curious as to what happened to the muggers, Al-Dabagh checks the security playback but the camera malfunctioned. Zim'Et appears right behind Al after the footage fails, surprising him. Zim'Et reveals her sister is set to term, but requires his help. Even after explaining that he knows nothing and she should take her sister to the hospital, Zim'Et debunks those plans; telling him to swear into a skin bag. All the curse words he knows and none that he'll ever need again. Al concurs but only to the discretion of her ears. Zim'Et leaves to back room where she is confronted by Gaudium.

After a short conversation and Al completes his task, Zim'Et departs while Al takes boxes out to the dumpster. There, he weighs how to tell his wife that the tumor will claim him. Eventually, Zim returns for the final time. She claims it will be a difficult birth and that he'll have to travel with her to her home.

Leading AL to the spot of a burned down cinema, Zim'Et reveals that it's the front door and sends him along with her through a portal to a dark, strange world. Terrified, AL follows Zim quickly until they are interrupted by a strange tree-like creature called Crus. His desires to eat Al are deterred by Zim'Et. Zim'Et reveals that Lucifer only gave everyone there, the Devil's Lands, the island, and no rights. Al pleads with Zim'Et, if there is a chance for saving, he'd do anything. They come to a cave. Inside the darkness, unable to hear loud thrashing, Al prayed for renewed devotion. Zim'Et left and returned once again to tell Al that the baby is trapped between being and non-being. The spirits of this place demand an offering. Unsure what to give (and wanting to live another day) AL decides to offer up his tumor to which Zim'Et and the spirits delight in. The thing that lived in the cave reached into him so gentle as to only remove the tumor. The child is born. Zim'Et and Al part ways. Al returns home to be at peace with his wife.
