Quote1 Oh, Elena -- I'm so miserable! I hate being a queen! Why can't I be happy and live like other little girls? Quote2
Lucy of Borgonia src

Queen Lucy is the monarch of the South American country of Borgonia.

She was more interested in athletics than ruling, being forced into the duty by the early death of her parents. An old family friend, Count Norvello, kept her hidden from the public, in the hopes that she wouldn't steal the hearts of her citizens and allow him to quietly rule the country with an iron fist.

With the help of her handmaiden, Elena, Lucy escaped to America, and enrolled in Smallville High School as "Lucy Regent". Clark Kent was impressed with her, as she was both smart and good at sports. The rest of the kids weren't as pleased. The girls considered her a tomboy, and the boys didn't like she was assertive and eager to learn in classes. Clark befriended her, and after a fight with some crooks, Lucy also met Superboy, and helped him wrap the crooks up. The newspapers ate up the story of the Supergirl, which made its way to Borgonia and Count Norvello.

Lucy's profile rose even more when she was officially presented as Supergirl - and performed several extraordinary feats with Superboy's help. In the mean time, Norvello sent agents to Smallville. They kidnapped her, and Elena came clean to Superboy about Lucy's heritage. Norvello fitted Lucy with an iron mask, and presented her to the people. He explained she was arrogant and did not wish any peasant to see her perfect royal face. The crowds easily turned against the queen they hadn't seen for ten years.

Superboy quickly revealed Norvello's plot to the people and easily defeated him. Finally rid of the scheming Norvello, she took full responsibility of her royal duties.
