History

In the early 1950s, the little nation of Luonia was beleaguered from within and without, and on two occasions the world-famous Blackhawk Squadron had to intervene, to preserve Luonia's independence. The second of these two interventions, in 1951, was a major turning point in Luonian and Valgan history.

An international espionage organizer, aviatrix, and feminist cult leader called Queen Bee was able to take over both Luonia and Valga, by arranging for war to almost break out between them, then attacking the Valgan aggressor force from the air, and destroying it. She then took over the Valgan dictatorship by traditional dictatorial means, and took over the democracy of Luonia with a feminist/populist narrative, based on having out-Blackhawked the famous Blackhawks themselves as defender of the little nation. While this approach appealed to the women of Luonia, the Golden Swarm also were not above using their very attractive personal appearances, and skimpy uniforms, to gain influence among the men.

In a few weeks, however, their plan was exposed, as Blackhawk secretly transmitted a private conversation with the Queen Bee, to Blackhawk Island's broadcast transmitter. Soon the Queen Bee's real tactics and intentions were exposed to the world, and she was driven from office in disgrace, at least in Luonia.
