In the early 1950s, Luthania was invaded by a neighboring nation.

History

In 1953 in Europe, Dictator Borst invaded his neighboring nation, tiny Luthania. The "Black Beast" Borst deployed heavy armor and modern bombers, while Luthania's military resources were obsolete and scarce. Although the forces of Borst were well equipped and trained, they were also not very numerous either. Still, as things got going, it was an even smaller force that turned the tide against them. Half a dozen Blackhawk Squadron interceptor jets flew into the fray, and Borst's air force had some sudden casualties. Borst's tanks withdrew rapidly, but the Blackhawks were dropping napalm, so not all of them made it.

His Excellency Borst dispatched his emissary, Colonel Dangra, to negotiate a peace agreement, or at least go through the motions, but he continually bogged down the peace conference with stalls, evasions, and endless delays. It was as obvious as it was tiresome, but while it went on, Borst's elite "Black Guard" forces were slipping into Lutha City, seizing the airfield and the suburbs. As this re-invasion became apparent, Dranga was arrested without resistance, but he had already almost won the whole war. Black Guard forces held the airport where the Blackhawks' planes were, and controlled the Luthanian army's arsenals also.

Blackhawk got aloft in an extremely primitive antique airplane, and made a flanking attack on Borst's gunmen, right in the middle of town, and this caused enough confusion that the Blackhawks and the Luthanian defenders were able to turn the tide and rout Borst's troops a second time. Borst himself, meanwhile, had made the mistake of arriving onto the battlefield in his staff car, to survey his imminent victory. Blackhawk had by this time reached and taken off in his Lockheed jet, and he riddled Borst's car with machinegun fire. Hostilities stopped very suddenly after that.
