Maelstrom was a member of the villain team Mayhem.

She fought against Aquaman and the Others though she didn't share their villainous vision and left the team.

Alignment Earth

Maelstrom was first mentioned when Cheshire called on her to take KGBeast and her away after a successful mission. Hidden from the strong winds, Maelstrom flight the two villains away as well as stalling Aquaman and the Others from pursuing them.[1] Later on, she was physically seen as a member of Mayhem in their meeting on the Moon. She questioned her team's attention on the Others as she thought that the Others was not a factor in their plan. She was there with her teammates as they tested out the launch code of the missiles hidden in an old Soviet satellite. Seeing her teammates fighting as well as their intention on using the missiles, Maelstrom rejected the idea and proposed that they would not need to use the missiles. She also revealed to Stranglehold that despite knowing about the team's alignment, she chose to be in the team to make things better for others. By the end, she was seen conflicted about her decision as well as her teammates.[2]

Finding out Vostok's story from KGBeast, Maelstrom came to Vostok and tried to comfort him after his origin was revealed to himself. They were interrupted by NKVDemon as they were requested back to see Mayhem putting the missiles into action, targeting the Operative's yacht. However, their plan was interfered by the Others and Maelstrom was transported to a remote island along with her teammates by Ya'Wara.[3] During the Mayhem's final showdown with the Others, Maelstrom was seen fighting with Sayeh the Seer. She was trying to stop Sayeh from interfering with their plan. As Maelstrom binds her on the ground with the wind, Sayeh could sense that her heart was not into this. Rejecting Sayeh's words, Malstrom tried to fight back but not before Sayeh touched her and seeing her future. Seeing what the future and destiny held for Maelstrom, Sayeh asked her to leave for her affiliation with Mayhem was not represented of who Maelstrom will become. Reluctantly agreeing, Maelstrom flew away leaving her teammates and the battle behind.[4]
