Synopsis for "Interface"
Sergeant Sylvia Kandrey, NYPD, is running fingerprint checks when Manhunter appears and flirts with her. He asks her out and they agree to meet at 3:30 as Lt. Best kicks him out of the building. Mark takes Sylvia to dinner and asks her for help gathering information on Ashley Mavis Powell, an alleged child molester who skipped out on her bond. As they exit they spot a thief making off with a woman's briefcase. Mark, as Manhunter, and Sylvia jointly take the thief down and Manhunter leaves so as to not complicate the arrest. Slyvia gets full credit. She returns home and begins fantasizing about having a life with Mark Shaw.
The next day Sylvia is celebrated by her fellow police officers but Best suspects Manhunter's involvement. He warns Sylvia not to get involved with him. Despite that request, Sylvia pulls up Powell's report only to find it "restricted." Paula Darrow arrives with some work for Sylvia and, when she leaves, Sylvia discovers her computer to have been purged of the Powell information. After returning home she calls Shaw and tells him what happened and her then-suspicion of Paula having somehow wiped the computer. Following on this suspicion Sylvia had researched Paula's record and found it also restricted. Using some art/identity software she was able to deduce that Paula was really Ashley Powell. Sylvia hangs up not knowing that Paula Darrow is standing outside. Manhunter, meanwhile, investigates Darrow's apartment and discovers she's packed to leave and is using a false identity. Manhunter rushes to Sylvia's apartment and bursts through her window to find Darrow holding Sylvia at gunpoint. Between the two of them, they manage to take Darrow down. Despite the bust, Sylvia is suspended from duty for using her police access for personal reasons although Best encourages her to return and re-earn his respect. Mark meets her and apologizes but Sylvia points out he only asked for help. She was the one who made it personal.
