| Synopsis1 = Ramsey is taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital. When Kate and Ramsey arrived at the hospital, a nurse Delaney who recognized Kate from her televised court appearances called a paparazzi photographer. Peter Robinson arrives and starts shouting at Kate about what happened to Ramsey. The paparazzi reporter takes some photos and interrogates Kate about her son's conditions. Kate tells the reporter to back off or she will drag him to court. The doctor quells the arguments between everyone by inviting Kate and Peter to the recovery room. The doctor informs both parents that Ramsey has suffered a severe concussion which has caused brain swelling. Initially, they had to perform some surgery in order to relieve the pressure on the skull before prescribing drugs that will help Ramsey. At the same time, Ramsey had suffered a few broken ribs and a collapsed left lung. Peter sees a tube down his son's throat which is helping Ramsey breath then he looks at Kate. Peter swears to Kate that this isn't the end of their argument.

Kate puts on her Manhunter garb and prepares for another night of crime fighting however, she does pay Ramsey a visit. Kate finds a building adjacent to the hospital and sees Peter from a far, sitting by Ramsey's bedside. The Shadow-Thief comes up from behind Kate and smacks her with a right hook. Kate gets to her feet and attempts to stun Shadow-Thief with a blinding light that comes out of her bo staff. Shadow-Thief acts desperately by throwing curare knives in every direction. Kate dodges the knives but looses her footing and falls off the building. Kate grabs the ledge of the building and Shadow-Thief begins to taunt her. Shadow-Thief starts to loosen Kate's grip on the ledge until a police helicopter comes flying in. The light stationed on the helicopter blinds Shadow-Thief long enough for Kate to cut off his hand but she looses her grip and she falls a few stories before landing on a neon lit sign. Shadow-Thief's prolonged use of the suit has given him the ability to control dark matter. He is able to reattach his severed limb with ease and runs away. Kate takes a moment to gather herself and realizes that the fall cost her her bo staff. Kate figures that Dylan Battles is the only person who can repair her bo staff and give her the edge she needs to defeat Shadow-Thief. At the same time, Kate contemplates that she can't balance her crime fighting night life with her work at the DA's office and being there for Ramsey. She is considering giving Peter full custody of Ramsey.
