Margaret Sawyer is a police detective of the GCPD, an ally of the Batgirls, and the girlfriend of Kate Kane.

History

Maggie was put in a position where she was meant to try to find Batwoman due to her place as a detective with the GCPD, which put a strain on her relationship with Kate, who was secretly Batwoman. Maggie has a weekly poker night with Crispus Allen, Sonia Alcana and Ellen Yin which she frequently hosts at her apartment once Kate went overseas with her recruitment by Amanda Waller.

When Hugo Strange and other misogynistic white supremacists started a smear campaign against the Batgirls, and Harvey Dent called for their arrests, Msaggie let them and Lois Lane use the newspaper printing press Kate had left behind to get their own story out.
