Margot Kidder (b. October 17, 1948 – d. May 13, 2018) was a Canadian-American actress best remembered for her portrayal of Lois Lane in Superman: The Movie and its sequels.

Professional History
Margot Kidder was a Canadian-American actress whose career spanned over fifty years. She appeared in several notable films and series, including Quackser Fortune Has a Cousin in the Bronx , Sisters , Black Christmas , The Great Waldo Pepper , and The Amityville Horror , but her most well-known role was her celebrated performance as Lois Lane alongside Christopher Reeve as Superman in Superman: The Movie . She reprised the role in Superman II , Superman III , and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace .
Kidder appeared on Smallville as Bridgette Crosby in 2004, and was interviewed for the documentary Look, Up in the Sky! The Amazing Story of Superman in 2006. In the later years of her career, she became a very vocal political, environmental, and anti-war activist, and committed suicide in 2018.
