- Markus Clay was created by Geoff Johns, Alex Ross, and Dale Eaglesham, first appearing in Justice Society of America (Volume 3) #12. However, Markus Clay first appeared as part of Prime Earth continuity in Justice Society of America (Volume 4) #12 by Geoff Johns, Todd Nauck, and Matt Herms.
