Martha Kent (Arrowverse: Superman & Lois)

Martha Kent was the adoptive mother of the Kryptonian Clark Kent aka Superman and the wife of the late Jonathan Kent.

Martha Kent was seen as the "heart" of Smallville. Although she owned her farm outright, she took out a reverse mortgage with the farm as collateral and used the money to help her struggling neighbours. She intended for Clark to sell the farm when she died and use the money to settle her debt with the bank. However, when she passed he instead decided to take on the land and the debt and relocate his family to Smallville.[1]

  • This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the Arrowverse franchise and is an adaptation of Mary Kent. The original character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and first appeared in Superman #1.
  • Martha Kent was portrayed by Michele Scarabelli.
