The entity known only as The Martian is a disembodied alien intelligence which possessed FBI agent John Jones.

History

The Martian apparently saved Jones from dying in a suicide bombing carried out by Mike Miller and took him as a host, granting him psychic powers.

Notes

• Martian Manhunter was created by Joseph Samachson and Joe Certa, first appearing in Detective Comics #225. However, the Absolute Universe version of Martian Manhunter first appeared in Absolute Martian Manhunter #1 by Deniz Camp and Javier Rodriguez.
  

Trivia

• The Martian is not from Mars. He in fact comes from a planet so distant that light from it will never reach Earth. However, "Martian" is the closest concept that Jones' mind can easily grasp.
