Martian Manhunter (Volume 2) #2 is an issue of the series Martian Manhunter (Volume 2) with a cover date of January, 1999.
Synopsis for "Bio Armor Jade Warrior!"
In Japan, the Martian Manhunter maintains a life as business executive Yuchiro Takata. As Takata, he is the president of New Concept Industries – a company that specializes in retrieving and analyzing alien artifacts. One of the devices they are studying is a transmitter unit of extraterrestrial design.
Suddenly, a Mecha-sized alien probe lands in the heart of Nippon and begins tearing up the city streets. Humanoid in appearance, it declares itself Antares of the Clanetary System.
The Manhunter flies out the window of his office building and engages Antares. By absorbing excess matter, J'onn increases his size and mass several thousand times, so that he is physically comparable to Antares. The citizens of Japan compare J'onn to a popular Manga hero known as the Jade Warrior.
As the Jade Warrior, J'onn uses his mental powers to analyze the inner workings of the probe. He learns that Antares is seeking the transmitter device that New Concept Industries has in its possession. Once Antares recovers the transmitter, it broadcasts a message to the Clanetary System. The Martian Manhunter manages to disrupt the probe, until Antares activates a self-destruct sequence. J'onn heaves Antares into outer space where it explodes harmlessly.
He then flies to the JLA Watchtower to transcribe the probe's broadcast. The transmitted signal contained a single word, "Come".
