Martin H. Jordan, callsign Bishop[2] was the father of Green Lantern (Hal Jordan).

Jordan was an Air Force test pilot and an employee of Ferris Aircraft. On a fate-filled mission, Martin failed to save a malfunctioning fighter jet and crashed to the ground. His young son Hal witnessed his father's death and was forever haunted by his passing.
