Martin H. Jordan, callsign Bishop was the father of Green Lantern (Hal Jordan).

History

Jordan was an Air Force test pilot and an employee of Ferris Aircraft. On a fate-filled mission, Martin failed to save a malfunctioning fighter jet and crashed to the ground. His young son Hal witnessed his father's death and was forever haunted by his passing. Hal always wondered if his father died with fear in his heart, and as he grew older, he committed himself to honor his father's memory and bravery.
