Marty McCann was a boxer having adventures in New York City in the late 1930s.
History
Before the end of his hitch in the Navy, enlisted sailor Marty McCann was a championship boxer in the Navy's intra-service athletic league. Honorably discharged in 1937, in New York City, young McCann immediately gravitated to the local boxing scene, and even, very briefly, into the movie business. His prizefighting career was not very much longer than his movie career, and later that same year, McCann vanished completely from the public eye. It is known that shortly before his disappearance, Marty McCann had gotten crosswise with a New York underworld figure, one Pete Marko, fight promoter and suspected racketeer.
