Mary Kowalski (Prime Earth)

Mary Kowalski[1] is a criminal under the alias Miracle Molly active in Gotham City in the aftermath of The Joker War. She is a member of the Unsanity Collective.

Becoming Miracle Molly

Before she was Miracle Molly, Mary Kowalski worked within the Helios Robotics, marrying Matsuda sometime earlier in her life. In the present, Mary had fallen into a seemingly never-ending spiral of banality, her ideas often outright ignored or rejected and her love life falling short of anything she truly wished for despite her genius. Nevertheless at night she often listens to Master Wyze's message of Unsanity. Though finding solace within his words, she keeps up her life despite everyone else's urging to forget her dreams and settle down.

Interrupting a meeting, Mary pitches her ideas, but is promptly fired and her ideas stolen. Later attempting to steal them back she is caught on camera and forced to run. With nowhere else to run and seeing what her life has become, Mary reaches out to Master Wyze. Embracing the Collective she wipes her mind of the past and dons the new identity of Miracle Molly.[2]

The Cowardly Lot

Within the Collective, Mary refined the Miracle Machine and many of the cybernetics found within the members. Following the events of the Joker War, the Unsanity Collective under pay from Simon Saint began harassing the media along with their goal against the rich. This eventually led to Molly coming into contact with Batman, who often stopped their crimes.[3]

Under his Matches disguise, Bruce attempted to get into the Unsanity Collective but was clocked and was placed under her watch to figure out who he was. FIguring out he was Batman, Molly shared her perspective coming to tell Bruce of Simon Saint's involvement in the growing fear in the city.[4] When the Magistrate bombed City Hall, the Unsanity Collective took the blame. As such Peacekeeper-01 led an assault on their base, luckily to be saved by Batman, Ghost-Maker, and Harley Quinn.[5]

Fear State

Guided to Ivy's eden under Gotham City by Harley, the Collective and Molly began waiting out the Fear State, Molly often sneaking out to bring in electronics.[6] Figuring out that Scarecrow plans on weaponizing the Miracle Machine to push the people into a primal fear, she rushed to Batman. [7] Finding Crane in the sewers, the two confronted him and an insane Peacekeeper-01.[8] As they fought, Molly restored the “Fear Bomb” back to its original setting, but tempted to wipe the minds of everyone in Gotham to become more like the Collective, was talked down by Batman, instilling within her a belief for the people of Gotham. Setting the detonator down the Fear State ended.[9]
