Synopsis for Capt. Marvel, Jr.: "Capt. Marvel, Jr. and The Return of the Acrobat!"

Freddy Freeman returns to the city via train from visiting his rural pal, Farmer Jones, and relaxes to enjoy his train ride home. However, the Warden of the Mental Institute for the Criminally Insane smells trouble, warning a guard, Boyer, to never open the solid cell door, since the Acrobat suffers from dreaded Moonitis, a “rare disease” that drives him into a murderous fury and gives him the strength of ten men to do it with whenever he's touched by the light of a full moon. Boyer later decides that the Warden was just making that up and Moonitis can't possibly be real, only for the moonlight to enter the room… and the Acrobat to lash out and strangle Boyer to steal his clothes, then purposefully destroys his face to hide that it's him, making him think that he's killed himself. Shortly after, he sneaks out with a story that the Warden is feeling ill and needs medicine, letting the Acrobat out to leap on to an escaping train's caboose. When two conductors try to stop him, recognizing he doesn't have a ticket, he strangles one to death and the other flees, screaming for help. Freddy calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Captain Marvel, Jr., but finds the Acrobat gone. The Acrobat, having changed his clothes another man in a private compartment after strangling him. Soon, the Acrobat climbs down the trestle bridge the train is on while Junior discovers the clothes of Tom Boyer, Dead Guard, and finds out what happened at the Mental Institute and the Warden decides to check the corpse's fingerprints. The Acrobat soon gets a job wearing a similar costume (now with a triangular-eyed mask) at the Grayson Circus. Junior soon arrives, turning back into Freddy and claims to be writing for the school paper, wanting to interview their new Masked Acrobat. The Masked Acrobat however, knows Freddy's secret identity and knocks him out with a stick and carries him to the trapeze, claiming he is going to let him do a trick with him to write in the paper. He flings Freddy off the trapeze with both legs and a waking Freddy quickly calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to stop from being killed and become Captain Marvel, Jr. once more. He soon punches him in mid-air and drags him to the Mental Institute, promising he'll live in the dungeon where he won't be exposed to the Full Moon ever again. Later, Freddy thinks on how maybe he needs another vacation now...
