Synopsis for Capt. Marvel, Jr.: "Capt. Marvel, Jr. and The Play's the Thing"

Freddy Freeman is peddling papers at his Newsstand when renegade World’s Wickedest Boy, Sivana, Jr. runs past him with a stolen pearl necklace and knocks him out with a blackjack. Young Thaddeus soon ties up Freddy and goes to shoot him in the head… only for it all to stop when the play being rehearsed is called to stop and the boy playing Sivana, Jr. (Tommy) is offered to be more sinister by his teacher, Miss Richards. She dismisses them and tells them to come back tomorrow night for the last dress rehearsal and Tommy heads off with his good friend, Freddy Freeman (as Freddy is playing himself in this play.)

That night, the real Sivana, Jr. is upset he can’t get into the Members Only Bankers’ Club and decide for them that he’s “Prince of the Universe.” An affluent couple come out and Young Thaddeus offers his umbrella to guard them from the rain and snatches the woman’s jeweled necklace and scarpers quickly. Freddy soon hears the couple shouting for help and calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to fly in as Captain Marvel, Jr. Sivana, Jr. kicks the woman’s husband into a nearby swimming pool (and he can’t swim!) and scarpers himself to escape. Junior rescues the rich man and flies off to find the World’s Wickedest Boy. Young Thaddeus soon arrives in a certain public school and hides the necklace in a box at the Freddy’s Newsstand Prop. Sivana, Jr. claims he did nothing wrong and just wanted to come see the play he’s doing that night, but Junior tells him to basically get lost while he looks for where he’s no doubt put it. Miss Richards, outside, is trying to coach Tommy on being more sinister, only for the real Sivana, Jr. to knock him out with a thicker branch and steals his script so he can take his place in the play! Miss Richards appreciates Sivana, Jr.’s realism in attacking Freddy and stealing Freddy’s cashbox (since it seems in-character for him) and then prepares to shoot him with a real gun. Freddy manages to notice where Sivana, Jr.’s jaw is slightly swollen from where he’d hit him before and calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to be safe and becomes Captain Marvel, Jr. Young Thaddeus tries to give up like a huge coward, but Junior lays into him regardless and finds the necklace hiding in the cashbox and explains everything to Miss Richards. The next night, the play goes off amazingly and everyone cheers for Freddy and Tommy’s great performance.
