Synopsis for Zoro, The Mystery Man: "The Terror"
A cowled villain calling himself the Terror hypnotizes millionaire John Barish and compels him to jump off a cliff. Reading the account in the papers, Zoro, friend to Barish, collects Cheeta and speeds over to see if he can find any clues. He arrives just in time to prevent the Terror from making Mae, Barish's niece, leap to her doom as well. Not to be outdone, the Terror trails them back to the mansion, tries to hypnotize Zoro, but Cheeta gets in the way. When he distracts Zoro by flinging Cheeta at his master, the Terror grabs Mae and makes his getaway with her.
Zoro and Cheeta pursue the Terror, fall into a pit trap he's prepared for them, but escape with climbing wire Zoro hides in his trademark cane. They catch up to the villain before he can deal with Mae, and in the scuffle the Terror's unmasked as Mae's brother, Stephen. He'd tried to kill his victims to inherit the Barish estate because he's penniless. His hypnotic powers came from lights built into the eyes of the deformed mask he wore as the Terror. Stephen tries to stab Zoro from behind, but the hero expertly turns and impales him instead.

- Captions and dialogue begin to call Cheeta "Cheetah", but not consistently.
- The Terror could hypnotize a man into killing himself, using lightbulbs in the eyes of the mask of his costume.
- Zoro kills the Terror, with his sword-cane.
