Synopsis for Capt. Marvel Jr.: "Capt. Marvel, Jr. and The Panther Man!"

Writer Brad Chadbourne is finishing up a manuscript when the Panther Man dives into his window and tries to attack him! Freddy Freeman hears him shouting from the street and calls CAPTAIN MARVEL to become Captain Marvel, Jr. and flies up to find him strangled to death… by an animal! Junior finds the police are equally bemused as rich man Horace Reese is attacked by the Panther Man, who had previously told him he'd be back. Junior hears him shouting, but this time arrives before Horace is strangled to death. He recalls that some time ago, he was on a hunting trip with Brad Chadbourne and a third friend, Darrel Gouze in the “Sakaras” Jungle where they shot at two black panthers, despite Gouze's warnings these are “the king and queen” and are considered to be equal to humans. The Panther Man finds his Queen shot dead and Horace suddenly dies before he can reveal Gouze's full address. Junior flies to the Hunters' Club to find the Chairman who gives him Darrell's address at 22 Scarton Road and Junior takes off to find him. The Panther Man tries to attack Gouze despite him saying he didn't want this to happen and actively tried to stop the hunters, but Junior arrives in time to punch over the Panther Man and carries him to jail, wondering if they can prosecute a half-man, half-panther...

Trivia

  • Despite the cover, The Panther Man doesn't fight Captain Marvel, Jr. on a rooftop. It's not even clear how he gets around while looking like a humanoid panther undetected other than presumptive panther-like agility.
