Synopsis for Capt. Venture: "The End of King Leon"

Captain Venture, Zyra, and Tazon are exiled in the vast, blinding desert of Djunga. They see a series of mirages, but one of them turns out to be a real city, and they are welcomed inside. In Mirage City, they are befriended by the Ruler, Lord Zane. A spy spots them and rats them out to King Leon, who flies into a rage on learning that Captain Venture is still alive. He offers a million dollars in gold to anybody that can manage to kill Captain Venture. One obscure scientist gets busy.

King Leon's scientist creates a "Frankenstein Monster," 1000 feet tall, and deploys it against Mirage City. After stomping across the desert, the berserk monster goes smashing thru the city like a dozen hurricanes. He rampages for hours, and eventually grows weary and falls asleep. Captain Venture scrambles onto the giant's head and puts a swordpoint to Titano's eardrum. That gets Titano's full attention, and he hijacks this monster, and turns him around, back towards Leon's palace. Picking up Zyra and Tazon on the way, the giant invades Leon's stronghold, brushing aside his rocket fleet, his army, and all his cannons. The giant snatches the cowering despot up into the air, and waits, while he blubbers and snivels for mercy, and abdicates his throne in favor of Tazon, then the giant flings the villain to his death. Then the monster's overworked heart gives out, and he topples dead as well. Tazon vows to his subjects that tyranny will never return to Djunga.

The explorer and his assistants were lynched by a secret society, and Abdul was also on the scene and escaped with the scarab. When Zoro suggests returning the scarab to the tomb, Abdul reports he doesn't have it anymore. Ben Ali stole it from him. That's why he called Zoro for help.
