Three circus performers die very suspicious deaths, and Captain Marvel Jr. learns all of them had just made several very large bank deposits. Turns out they had discovered the bearded lady was really Scarhand Moran, a gangster hiding out from the law, and tried to blackmail him. He'd engineered their deaths in reply.
