Zoro the Mystery Man masterfully catches the thief before they can escape, only to realize it's the wife of a friend of his. She reveals her husband was the captain on the cruise where Lomac came into possession of the pearl, and that Lomac left him behind to die. Now he's held captive by the natives who regard the pearl as sacred, and who plan to kill Captain Baker if it isn't returned.
Zoro challenges Lomac for the pearl, and wins the right by throwing the gigantic native slave he'd also brought back from the trip. This man, Wittik, is given the chance to accompany Zoro back to his home when he returns the pearl.
