Eons before the Boom Tubes were created, Metron was forced by Darkseid to create a portal that would give access to any part of the Universe instantly to transport their troops and weapons to New Genesis.

The Matter Threshold was the primary teleportation device used by Apokolips before the Boom Tubes.

History

Eons before the Boom Tubes were created, Metron was forced by Darkseid to create a portal that would give access to any part of the Universe instantly to transport their troops and weapons to New Genesis.

The device was abandoned and relocated in Desaad's labs, until being reactivated by Tigra to bring a Third World God back from the past to kill Darkseid.[1]
