Lt. Matthew Shrieve was the commander of the Creature Commandos.

History

Shrieve was a soldier for the US Government selected to lead a team of scientifically created monsters to fight the Axis powers in World War II called the Creature Commandos. He was present when a member of his team, Frankenstein, killed Adolf Hitler.

When the Creature Commandos were shut down by the government in favor of switching to G.I. Robots, Shrive created his own team of Commandos to rescue his former teammates from being held in decommissioned stasis. However, this team of Commandos betrayed Shrieve, not as loyal as the originals, and killed Shrieve and his daughter in front of his granddaughter, inspiring her to become a monster hunter in her adulthood.
