Mera is the former Queen of Atlantis and mother of Aquawoman.
History
Following the last attack of the Hyperclan, the Justice League voted to banish the Martians to a parallel world of fire and ash. She and Arthur argued about this decision later, as she believed this was just but Arthur felt it was too cruel.[1]
When Jackson Hyde became Aquaman and took on the responsibility of training Andy, she charged him to bring her daughter home safe after every mission.[2]
Along with her husband and Jackson, Mera is currently in The Confluence, but regularly communicates with Andy. She offered to come home to talk with her about the deaths of the Legion of Doom, but Andy declined.[3]
