"Merry" Pemberton is Merry, the Girl of 1,000 Gimmicks, a retired Golden Age hero and sister and aunt to heroes the Star-Spangled Kid and Gimmix.
History
In her youth, Merry fought criminals as the Girl of 1,000 Gimmicks,[1] and was cared for in her retirement by Pat Dugan, one-time partner to her brother Sylvester Pemberton.[2] Later in life, she joined the hero team Old Justice and worked with her brother's successor Courtney Whitmore, despite her disapproval of Whitmore's adoption of his mantle without her blessing, to defeat Klarion, the Witch Boy.[1] She passed on her crime-fighting gimmicks to her niece Jacqueline Pemberton in the form of the "Bag of Trix" with which she became the superhero "Gimmix."[3]

- Merry, Girl of 1000 Gimmicks was created by Otto Binder and Win Mortimer, first appearing in Star-Spangled Comics #81. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Merry, Girl of 1000 Gimmicks first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Stargirl Spring Break Special #1 by Fred Hembeck.
