Sorry for answering so late in the game; I have been busy elsewhere.
Apparently, my posting was none too clear. I did _not_ agree with your position on the KnightFall discussion, merely tried to pinpoint the problem since it seemed to me you and Hatebunny were not even listening to each other anymore. While I am not always in agreement with the discussion style of some admins I saw - and agreed to - their point in this.
And, frankly, I am not too sure about nominating someone who just happens to agree with your position for admin status, Varese´s merits notwithstanding. There are other ways to strengthen an argument. --Lucien61 (talk) 10:11, June 9, 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for uploading new content to the DC Database project!
We have lots of images in our database, 127,178 in fact, and in order to keep them organized we use a system of naming, categories and licensing added to each.
Please review our Naming Conventions for Images. Images are categorized by name, so a descriptive name rather than a string of numbers is important.
As a guide, look what other images in a character's gallery are called, and continue with the same name and number. If you upload a first image of a character, use "[Name] [Universe] 001". Do not use parentheses, or the full pagename. Ignore the Universe designation if it is a New Earth character.
Issue covers should be given at least the title of the series, the volume and the number. A name similar to the issue is preferred: "Title Vol 1 1". Textless covers should be called "Title Vol 1 1 Textless". Files that do not indicate the issue number will be deleted.
Images should be no less than 300px wide, unless no bigger image is available.
Add the Image Template to the images you upload. This is mandatory. Fill it in as detailed here, or below.
Selecting the proper license is vital to properly maintaining our images. Please choose the license which best describes the image you are uploading. The most commonly used are 'Comic Single Panel' and 'Comic Cover', respectively.
Other fields that should be filled in: Issue, Subject1, Artist. Add Source if you've taken it from a different site. If you've taken it from a different site and don't know the issue, DO NOT UPLOAD IT.
Because many of them have content which directly relates to what comes next. Not all of them are just straight origins. It's best to read them in publication order, and so, it's also best to list them in publication order.
While I'm here, if you're adding to cover galleries, we prefer the dressed (publication) covers for those galleries, rather than virgin/textless covers. I know a lot of books don't have the fully dressed covers on the site yet, though. Rather than adding textless covers to those galleries, you could help us by finding the fully dressed cover images, uploading them (here's a helpful tutorial on how to fill out the image template properly for them), and then add THOSE to the cover galleries.
Hi Cirilomechas, our cover galleries are filled out with the fully dressed, print versions (with barcodes and everything) of covers. The textless ones we use only on the comic page or in character galleries. You're doing it right, just add the print covers instead. Thanks.
