  • Hello ! The navigation template for the superman issues are done that way for all the issues since it started, better to keep it the same for all of them :)

      Loading editor
    • Agreed but they should have proper formatting, like italics for publications.

  • Hey,

Just wanted to clear up the confusion. I edited the Batman: The Adventures Continue Vol 1 1 (Digital) page, my edit summary mentioned it there, but figured it was just a safer bet to bring it to your message wall.

It's a sitewide standard to put mentioned characters in their own alphabetical order, separate from all the other characters that appear, at the bottom of Other Characters. Just kinda what we always do.

But I appreciate the edits, sorry for the trouble!

      Loading editor
    • It is 100% not a trouble. Where is this written down?

        Loading editor
    • It should be mentioned on the Help:Comic Template page, but a lot of that information needs an update. (You yourself were the last one to edit it closing in on a year ago. :P) It doesn't even mention putting the appearances in alphabetical order either.

It's just been one of those quiet standards we've all stuck to - lump the Mentioneds together, like a faux version of their own section, to differentiate from the characters who do appear. It hasn't really come up as a problem before.

    • Agreed that documentation is way out of date. I don't recall ever encountering this convention until someone else complained about it on a single page. Until/unless there is a discussion or some actual guideline, then I don't think we should revert about it.

  • So, in https://dc.fandom.com/index.php?title=JLA_Vol_1_1000000&diff=2109849&oldid=1416636 you wrote the sentence, in the Notes section, Detective Comics #1000 leads into this story.

I was stumbled to see how you could have guessed about an issue that didn't come out much later :) (seriously, I check DC #1000 article to see if any story would be a late prologue to the JLA issue, but apparently there was none).

So, when it comes to edits, it's best to check what you have written/edited.

Of course, the correct issue in that Note is Detective Comics Vol 1 1000000. It is fixed. :)

      Loading editor
    • That would have been incredible backshadowing... Thanks for the fix.

    • By the way, do you know how to edit {{C}} to do proper formatting of large numbers, such as 1000000 being displayed only in link text as #1,000,000, while preserving the real link to 1000000?

      1) I do not have permission to edit {{C}}.

      2) Even if I had permission, I do not know the syntax of wiki macro language.

If you could do such edit, that would be great:

      1. not only xYYYzzz to #x,YYY,zzz
      2. but also all the numbers xYYY to #x,YYY
      3. and, maybe, xxYYY to #xx,YYY
      4. and, maybe as well, xxxYYY to #xxx,YYY

because now is starting to be useful (at least, the first 2).

  • I took the liberty to remove gen:Lock 13 because ReadDC and Comixology list it releasing on March 18. Hope you don't mind.

Also I think it's better to ask the admins regarding the mentioning of collections and digital comics in the note as a precaution. Tupka hid the entire list, including the collections that did release physically.

      Loading editor
    • I certainly do not mind you correcting me for being wrong: in fact, thanks a lot! I was doing the same as you just did: making the note accurate. It is not true that "DC didn't release any digital or physical comics today", so I don't know why we would want to say that on our front page.

  • Why did you add back characters who have little to no role in JLA Vol 1 1 asides from being mentioned, as featured or supporting characters? DO they play a starring/featured role? Or a supporting role in any manner? Adding mentioned-only characters is contradictory to "featured" or "supporting cast"'s defintion unless they atleast have a major behind the scenes role, even if they're members of a starring or supporting team.

    • It's you who's started it and is insistent on what he wants. Besides you can't edit war with yourself, and I reverted my self-revert after 24 hours.

How is "the guidelines don't say [x]" a good response? You're simply sayingg that because it doesn't explicitly say that team members can't be listed as featured or supporting, you'll organize it however you want.

But I showed you specifically that it says only characters playing an actual major role can be included as featured or supported characters.

And no I don't confuse anyone by removing those team members. Because you can simply click it and go to that character's page, read the infobox or read another issue where they are a member.

        Loading editor
    • And at least I stop reverting after one or two reverts and don't try to endlessly revert if it's clear it'll result in an endless edit-war.

  • So as to avoid any dispute in advance, the textless cover guidelines state that the description field for textless covers needs to be filled with the characters shown in the cover, not the volume and issue number of the comic. See Help:Textless Cover Images#Description.

  • Why the hell are you edit-warring me over alphabetical order? Help:Comic Template#Template:A shows how we should organize characters. K comes before M in English alphabetical order. It's K-L-M not M-L-K.

So Kraww should be listed before Mark, otherwise the list will be chaotically organized.

    • Here's an example, listing of members Parliament of Bangladesh, ypu'll see it's organized by first name, middle name and surname: https://amarmp.com/mpsearch

Oh and I've visited the country and many other parts of Asia. You are baselessly arguing over this matter and baselessly accusing me of "making things up".

Please self-revert. I've proven your claim of family name always being used to organize names as wrong. And the admin most of all already told you that the first letter after a pipe needs to be used.

    • If I was indexing it, I would link the appearances with Spanner's Galaxy as the universe. As for the Vibe appearance, you could link it to the original and leave a note though I doubt there will ever be a follow-up on it.
