Hey, thanks for all the character bios. One thing though - they don't need to be that long. They need to be from the perspective of the page subject and be a basic writeup of events. To use Owen Mercer (New Earth) as an example, that's a detailed issue summary with play by play. There's no need to go into that much detail. That's 20 lines for 2 issues. If all 3 issues he was in had 20 lines, the page would be unreadable.
No problem. Do you want me to adjust Owen's bio? My apologies for Kai-Ro. I tried my best to reinterpret my entry for Kai-Ro from Comicvine. This prick of moderator on Comicvine has the balls to delete a lot of my genuine hard work.
If you paraphrase from another site, make sure to consult with source material. That was only true for Kai-Ro (DCAU).
For Owen Mercer, really the only thing that's needed is something along the lines of "Owen was sent to investigate/protect/whatever a facility in Ciudad Juarez. They found Manhunter who was investigating it. Thery fought, it ended like so and so. The end."
And I also removed the one from Dark Matter because of style.
Though not all bios have it, we prefer if they start with a brief description of the subject before diving into their origin. Dark Matter, real name Frederick Fleming, is a scientist turned supervillain with the power of blablabla. He fought the Flash on one occasion."
Gotcha. Thank you for deleting that tidbit about Alan Scott. I guess it didn't qualify for the Green Lantern badge. I have the issue regarding Dark Matter. I just gotta find the time to write out the whole story.
Thank you for uploading new content to the DC Database project!
We have lots of images in our database, 134,517 in fact, and in order to keep them organized we use a system of naming, categories and licensing added to each.
Please review our Naming Conventions for Images. Images are categorized by name, so a descriptive name rather than a string of numbers is important.
As a guide, look what other images in a character's gallery are called, and continue with the same name and number. If you upload a first image of a character, use "[Name] [Universe] 001". Do not use parentheses, or the full pagename. Ignore the Universe designation if it is a New Earth character.
Issue covers should be given at least the title of the series, the volume and the number. A name similar to the issue is preferred: "Title Vol 1 1". Textless covers should be called "Title Vol 1 1 Textless". Files that do not indicate the issue number will be deleted.
Images should be no less than 300px wide, unless no bigger image is available.
Add the Image Template to the images you upload. This is mandatory. Fill it in as detailed here, or below.
Selecting the proper license is vital to properly maintaining our images. Please choose the license which best describes the image you are uploading. The most commonly used are 'Comic Single Panel' and 'Comic Cover', respectively.
Other fields that should be filled in: Issue, Subject1, Artist. Add Source if you've taken it from a different site. If you've taken it from a different site and don't know the issue, DO NOT UPLOAD IT.
