  • Hello, wouldn't the Last Days of Animal Man be better as a separate reality? Possible futures receive their own designations here. Considering it's a whole series, I think it's appropriate.

    • I agree. I only put the NE characters because the characters already included were the New Earth versions, for a reason or another.

  • Hi just fyi items regularly used by superheroes don't need to be mentioned every time. For example Batsuit. The tiara, lasso and bracelets of Wonder Woman should also be avoided being mentioned unless she actually uses them or they serve a story purpose. They are something she regularly carries around.

To clear any possible misunderstanding, I'm not saying you're adding them in every comic. I'm informing only just in case even if you may know about it already. Prevention is better than a mistake in case it happens.

    • Actually, you don't need to "confirm" when you can establish a solid evaluation. It's not just looking at the wiki activity recap. You can evaluate by cross-checking the edited page and the history of edits of said page (even the user's history page can be checked in worst cases), as I already pointed out.

Anyway, I honestly don't see the point of pursuing the conversation : I find that blind advice MO an unnecessary waste of time due to the tools at one's disposition, you don't, the end. I don't think continuously rephrasing our respective stance will bring anything new at this point.

    • What you're saying is I should act like some analyst basing it off guess work of checking pages you edited. No I can't do that, I don't know the reasons behind your edits and I don't like to decide someone's intentions on guess works.

Evaluation should be done based on proof not conjecture. I suggest you calm down and not be offended despite me never even thinking you were just adding her items everywhere. You're right there's no point in pursuing this conversation.

  • Please don't manually add the category for deceased characters. It's set up to hide recent deaths to avoid spoiling people on the site.

  • Is it possible that Rutherford is her uncle's first name? I haven't read the issue so I don't know how the name is referenced (i.e. Mister Rutherford) but it's one of those could be first/could be last deals.

    • Lana refers to him as "Uncle Rutherford". I doubt back in the days you called your uncle based on his family name, so I assume it's his first name. I made a mistake while editing, you can correct it.

  • When you add a fully filled out image template to the upload summary, you don't have to include a license from the dropdown menu. Saves you having to remove it.

  • If you're creating pages for Cold Dead Hands characters, Miss Pequod is based on a character that first appeared in Black Lightning (Volume 2) #8.

    • I actually wanted to wait till the end of the "Cold Dead Hands" miniserie before creating her page, in case her full name is revealed. If her page hasn't been done by then, I shall remember it, thanks.

  • When you create new character pages, can you also create the corresponding categories? All you have to do is click on the categories and add {{Character Appearances}}, {{Character Images}}, or {{Quotes}} to the correct category. If there are no quotes, you don't have to create that one.

    • I have to do that on the edit page in the box on the right labelled "categories", right ? I noticed there tends to be a difference between those boxes and the "categories" section underneath most pages (the former tends to be empty, whereas the second is automatically generated).

If it is that box, should I add all the "categories" that are automatatically generated (like the "aviation" ability, or "male character", etc.) or just the three you mentioned (when pertinent) ?

    • When you create a page, the categories I mentioned show up under the Related heading.

  • Hello!

Thank you for uploading new content to the DC Database project!

We have lots of images in our database, 140,771 in fact, and in order to keep them organized we use a system of naming, categories and licensing added to each.

    1. Please review our Naming Conventions for Images. Images are categorized by name, so a descriptive name rather than a string of numbers is important.
      1. As a guide, look what other images in a character's gallery are called, and continue with the same name and number. If you upload a first image of a character, use "[Name] [Universe] 001". Do not use parentheses, or the full pagename. Ignore the Universe designation if it is a New Earth character.
      2. Issue covers should be given at least the title of the series, the volume and the number. A name similar to the issue is preferred: "Title Vol 1 1". Textless covers should be called "Title Vol 1 1 Textless". Files that do not indicate the issue number will be deleted.
    2. Images should be no less than 300px wide, unless no bigger image is available.
    3. Add the Image Template to the images you upload. This is mandatory. Fill it in as detailed here, or below.
    4. Selecting the proper license is vital to properly maintaining our images. Please choose the license which best describes the image you are uploading. The most commonly used are 'Comic Single Panel' and 'Comic Cover', respectively.
    5. Other fields that should be filled in: Issue, Subject1, Artist. Add Source if you've taken it from a different site. If you've taken it from a different site and don't know the issue, DO NOT UPLOAD IT.

For a more in-depth guide, see Help:Image Template Hub. In addition, please take a moment to review our policies page and more specifically our image policy.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in reply to this post and our admins will explain how you can improve for next time.
