Synopsis for "You Can't Trust a Robot!"

The metal men apprehend a group of thieves with cat masks. Their leader manages to escape the scene but he is clearly frustrated that the robots have interfered with his criminal intentions. He decides to drive to the laboratory of Doc Magnus to kidnap him. He reasons that with the doctor will make a great hostage that will allow him to control the Metal Men. When the thief arrives at the laboratory, he finds that Doc Magnus has created a different set of duplicate Metal Men robots for use by the army. The cat thief commandeers the robots and figures out a way to activate them for his own use. He violently subdues Doc Magnus and leaves him unconscious. The cat thief is about to leave the laboratory complex when he is confronted by the original metal men. There is a quick skirmish and the evil metal men make quick work of the original metal men team. To her horror, Tina discovers the unconscious Doc Magnus and quickly starts to care for him until he revives. They discover that the Doc has lost his memory and Tina realizes that this might be a good opportunity for her to advance her romantic goals with the Doctor. In the meantime original metal men split into teams to locate their evil doubles. Tin and Nameless are the first to find the evil robots as they are robbing a bank. Tin attempts to stop them by turning into a giant boomerang to bring down their flying vehicle but he Is quickly crushed by one of the thieving robots. Gold and Lead run into a group of the evil robots as they are holding up an armored vehicle. They put up an admirable struggle but the duplicate robots are able to defeat their doubles once again and escape. Iron and Mercury encounter the thieves as they fly above the city. They give chase and attack but they have no success and the thieves escape to continue their crime spree. Doc Samson is back in the laboratory with Tina when he decides that he must join the fight himself. He gives chase in a flying vehicle but he is grazed by a bullet as is whizzes past his head. When Tina sees that Doc Magnus has been injured once again she goes into a heated frenzy and attacks the duplicate metal men. She wraps them up with metal wire and drags them down into boiling smelter sacrificing herself as she destroys the evil robots. The bullet that grazed Doc Magnus has the effect of reviving his memory. He returns to the smelter and is able to recover enough of her robot material to recreate Tina. The newly rebuilt Tina awakes and begins her usual habit of showing affection for Doc Magnus.
