Synopsis for "To Walk Among Men"

The Metal Men are declared to be a menace to society and condemned to immediate destruction. The are taken into custody and driven to a junkyard where they will be crushed into scrap metal. One by one they are led to the junk compressor where each one supposedly perishes but to their surprise they drop through a trap door to safety. They find out that their savior is a man who calls himself Mr. Conan. He is a wealthy entrepreneur who wants to combat the chaos in the world and he wants the Metal Men to join him in his mission. The Metal Men agree but they are concerned that they will be recognized especially after they had supposedly perished. Conan reveals that he has put together a team of experts that will fit the Metal Men with artificial skin to serve as a new disguise for them. The team gets to work on redesigning the robots. Each and everyone of them is transformed into a new identity. Gold becomes an unrecognizable tycoon named Guy Gilden, a Wall Street genius and philanthropist. Tina becomes a fashion model named Tina Platt; she graces the cover of several magazines with no one suspecting that she was once a mere machine. Lead and Tin take on the disguise of successful musicians that grace the gossip columns. Mercury is transformed into an artist named Mercurio with eccentric behaviors. Finally, Iron takes on the disguise of Jon Mann, a builder of bridges, tunnels and dams. The Metal Men are satisfied with their new lives but they itch for excitement and action. Little do they know that a secret group in New York threatens the safety of mankind on Earth and they call themselves the Black Coven.
