Synopsis for "The Playground of Terror!"
The Metal Men are on their way to a show performance when they notice a boy sitting on a set of steps. Tina tries to coax him in to coming to their show but the boy hastily declines. What they don’t realize at the moment is that the little boy, whose name is Tommy, is completely blind. The Metal Men go on to perform their act on stage but Tina cannot shake the memory of the little boy sitting sadly on the steps. She returns to his residence where he is still sitting. At this point, Tina realizes that the boy cannot see. The other Metal Men soon arrive and offer to take little Tommy on a ride to visit their lab. Tina is overjoyed that the Metal Men are showing such compassion but she is still getting hastily rejected by Doc Magnus whenever she shows emotion. Once at the lab, the Metal Men offer to take Tommy on a rocket to space so he can be the first boy astronaut. Once the rocket enters space, they experience violent turbulence and get shaken up. They soon come upon an unknown planet and decide to land. As they disembark from the ship, they encounter a deserted planetary amusement park. The rides do not look operational but they decide to board them anyway. As soon as they are on the rides, they take on a life of their own and start to move. The Metal Men have to jump for their lives from the rollercoaster ride with little Tommy in tow. They are then attacked by another set of rides that release missiles at the group. At one point the Metal Men are all blinded by a giant camera that exposes them to a giant lightbulb. The Metal Men are desperate as they try to find their spaceship without their sight. At this point little Tommy offers to lead the blinded heroes to their spaceship using his enhanced sensory skills. They all join hands and Tommy leads them back to the ship. The climb into their spaceship just in time but the carnival ride machines are hot on their trail.
