History
Mikaal Tomas, better known as Starman, is the protector of Opal City. Though he took some time off from being a superhero to enjoy life with his boyfriend Tony, Tony died unexpectedly, thrusting Tomas back into the mantle of being Starman. He is friends with the former criminal The Shade. [1]

- Mikaal Tomas was created by Gerry Conway and Mike Vosburg, first appearing in 1st Issue Special #12. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Mikaal Tomas first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in The Shade (Volume 2) #1 by James Robinson and Cully Hamner.
