Mike Wieringo (b. June 24th, 1963 – d.August 12th, 2007) was a writer.
Personal History
Wieringo was born in Italy. His parents were Cecil and Shirley Wieringo and his brother was Matt Weiringo. He died of an aortic dissection at his home in Durham, North Carolina, at age 44. The Ringo Award for achievement in comic books was named in his honor.
Professional History
Michael Wieringo was an Italian-American comic book artist. He began his career in 1991 working for Millennium Publications on their title Doc. Savage. His first work for DC Comics was in 1993 on the title Justice League Quarterly.
He also worked for Marvel Comics on the titles Fantastic Four; The Amazing-Spider Man; among others.
