Mime was Camilla Ortin, an enemy to Batman and the daughter of a fireworks salesman. Growing up with her father's products, Camilla developed a disdain for loud noises that turned into an obsession with silence when her parents died in a fireworks factory explosion. She studied the art of mime and started her own show under the stage name of Camilla Cameo. When her show went bankrupt, she became the villain known as the Mime, who aims to rid Gotham City of loud noises through acts like stealing bell clappers from churches or sabotaging rock concerts.
Another character called "Mime" is Marcos Maez, a mute sadistic criminal, the romantic partner Marionette, and one of Rorschach's villains from Watchmen Universe.
Camilla Ortin was created by Max Allan Collins and Dave Cockrum, first appearing in Batman #412 (1987). Marcos Maez was created by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank, first appearing in Doomsday Clock #1 (2018).
