"Mister Miracle (Volume 1)" began publication in 1971, and featured title character Scott Free, the second "Mister Miracle." The series was written, drawn and edited by comics legend Jack Kirby. It was one of four titles that encompassed the conceptual "Jack Kirby's Fourth World," including New Gods (Volume 1), Forever People (Volume 1) and Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen (Volume 1). These four titles were Kirby's first work for DC in the DC Universe, and excluding Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen (which had already been running for several years), were all entirely conceived by him.
