Synopsis for "Apokolips Then and Now"

The Hunger Dogs of Apokolips riot after the discovery of the Miracle Mister cleaning product, and the situation gets out of hand when they start asking for more. Manga Khan and his crew get surrounded by them, and they are forced to use the remaining Miracle Misters to appease the mob. With the help of the converted crowd, they head to Granny Goodness' Orphanage, where Mister Miracle is trapped.

Mister Miracle escapes from his death-trap with the help of his Mother Box and Multi-Cube, using the cube to deflect the lasers and break his shackles. He then confronts Granny, who claims to be ready to kill him herself. But Scott's words confuse her, saying he wants to put an end to his life to get away from the madness of Apokolips and New Genesis. He even takes off his Mister Miracle suit and stands at point-blank rage of her Mega-Rod. But Granny hesitates, and she's incapable of killing his once favorite student.

Suddenly, Oberon leads the Coracle and crashes it through the Orphanage walls, interrupting the "execution". Granny then calls in the Female Furies to battle. Mister Miracle escapes, and Stompa, trying to crush him, opens the secret cargo hold where the last Miracle Misters where stored. The soap spreads, and it reaches the Furies, making them addicted to its effects but still keeping their killing instincts. Darkseid arrives at the scene, stops the riot, and reverts the effect of the Miracle soap. One convert sprays him, but nothing happens, and Darkseid turns the remaining soap into mud. Darkseid lets Scott and his companions leave Apokolips, saying his punishment will come in the future. Granny protests, but Darkseid knows that if she killed Scott she wouldn't be his loyal servant anymore, so it's better to let him go rather than to have to kill her afterwards. Besides, Darkseid's plans for Scott are far from over as his Earth subordinates make preparations to spread the mutation-virus.
