Mitchell Anderson was a member of the Inverse Society in the Inverse World.
History
On Superman's world, Ally Allston gave his counterpart a drug cocktail that allowed the other Anderson to temporarily inhabit his body and communicate with the Ally Allston of his world. He told her that they had accumulated both of the pendants that the Inverse Society would need to fuse the two worlds together, and they were coming through the portal to their world.
Ally took Anderson and some other followers, including Jon-El and Lana-Rho, to the Shuster Mines to wait for the others to cross over. Much to their surprise the other Anderson came through alone and carrying both pendants. Ally demanded to know what had happened on the other side but the other Anderson could not understand her as her speech sounded reversed to him. She ordered Lana to take the pendants from him but he effortlessly knocked her aside, revealing that he had powers which Anderson had not known about.
The two Andersons had a psychic link, and the other Anderson's memories were transferred to him in a sudden burst that left him disoriented. The other Anderson fused the pendants together and attempted to merge with him, but he was murdered by Jon-El to prevent the merge.
