History

Mitchell Metcalf was a police officer in Dakota City, married to community activist Denise Metcalf. He is the father of Curtis Metcalf, a genius inventor who would later go on to become the superhero Hardware. Although Mitchell was proud of his son and loved him very much growing up, they had a very strained relationship because Curtis felt he was being driven too hard to be someone he wasn't. Eventually, Curtis considered his mentor Edwin Alva to be more of a father than his own ever had been to him.
