Notes
- In Blackhawk, WWII is still not quite over.
- Olaf gets shot down, for either the first or second time.[1] He and Chop Chop each survive one more plane crash, Olaf's fourth,[2] and Chop Chop's second.[3] Andre also is shot down, for the first time, and survives his second plane crash.[4] Hendrickson and Chuck are aboard Andre's plane; for Hendy's first crash, and Chuck's second.[5]. And Blackhawk destroys his own Skyrocket with a pre-planted bomb. Being a Blackhawk is dangerous.
- Death Patrol:
- Del Van Dyne is still absent. He was last seen in Military Comics #41.
- Boris, Gramps, or Yogi might or might not be absent. Five of the D.P.'s planes are seen, but only Hank, Hotintot, and Jackie are visible in the story.
- P.T. Boat
- For at least the third time, Lt. Harvey gets wounded badly enough to require some rescue swimming, some surgery, and a hospital stay.[6]
- LT Tobias and CDR Platt smoke cigars, in a hospital room. It's 1945.
- Also featured in this issue of Modern Comics were:
- Johnny Doughboy, by Bernard Dibble
- "Northern Fate" (text story)
