Notes
- This is the first issue of MODERN COMICS on which the blurb "FORMERLY MILITARY COMICS" no longer appears above the title on the cover.
- Blackhawk:
- The Bat is blind, and has superhuman hearing powers, "a supersonic sixth sense," and wears a bat-eared cowl and a dark cape.
- Doctor Spicer comes across as a mild, kindly old doctor, but he's either got no medical ethics whatsoever or he's more than half insane. Without consent or information, he injected his patient with an unidentified fluid, extracted from live bats. His theory, which proved true, was that this would give the patient super hearing powers. There is no record of how many other patients may have received this treatment.
- Also appearing in this issue of Modern Comics were:
- Prudence by Michael Senich
- Blackhawk: "The Slavers" (text story)
Trivia
- Blackhawk still smokes a pipe.
