In the 30th Century, King Arthur's bastard son Modred was reincarnated as Jordan Matthew, the United Nations Security Director.
History
Origins
Modred is the illegitimate son of Arthur and Queen Margawse. A prophecy foretold that a boy born on Modred's birthday would grow up to bring ruin to Camelot, and so Arthur ordered every male child born on that day to be killed. Margawse gave Modred to a peasant woman to spirit him away however, they were caught by Arthur, along with Sir Kay and Sir Tritsan. Tristan raped the peasant girl while Arthur personally tried to drown Modred.
However, Modred just barely survived and the peasant woman was able to take him away before the knights could bury him with the others. Modred grew up to despise Arthur for what he had done, and made war on his father when he was old enough. Arthur therefore created the enemy he was trying to prevent. Camelot was weakened by the civil wars between Arthur and Lancelot, and so Modred was able to destroy the kingdom. In the final battle, Arthur slew Modred while Modred mortally wounded his father. Arthur was placed in a magical sleep for over two thousand years to slowly heal.
Camelot 3000
Over two thousand years later, Modred was reborn as Jordan Matthew. He entered politics and eventually rose to become the United Nations Security Director, one of the most powerful people in the world, but he still wanted more. When aliens invaded in the year 3000 their leader, Morgan LeFay approached Jordan and offered him an alliance. Morgan recognised Matthew as Modred but did not restore his memories. As she expected, his basic nature remained the same and he agreed to betray humanity in exchange for greater power.
Arthur was awakened from his magical sleep to save Earth from the invaders. The people of Earth demanded that their leaders step down and surrender their power to Arthur, making him King of the world. Matthew met with four powerful world leaders who all agreed that they would not relinquish their positions, and would pretend to help Arthur while secretly working to destroy him. Matthew planned to kill the world leaders and seize their power for himself once Arthur was dealt with, whilst they in turn planned to betray him.
Matthew contacted Sergeant Owen McAllister, a war hero and the jilted fiance of Amber March; who was in fact Sir Tristan reincarnated in a female body. He offered McAllister the chance for revenge against the Knights of the Round Table for Amber leaving him, and gave him command of an assault on the Knight's base of New Camelot. The Knights were forewarned by Merlin and so successfully repulsed the attack, while McAllister was killed by Tristan. Unbeknownst to McAllister, all of his forces besides him were in fact aliens disguised as U.N troops, so when they were defeated it appeared that McAllister was a rogue traitor. he Knights surrendered McAllister's body to the authorities and Matthew in turn gave it to the aliens who were able to use their advanced technology to restore him to life as a powerful mutant.
Matthew attempted to seduce Morgan, but discovered to his horror that she was afflicted with a horrible disease that was causing her to slowly rot away. She told him that she was not a simple girl that he could manipulate and used her magic to painfully attack his mind. Morgan told Matthew of her centuries-long quest to destroy Arthur, and when he asked her what his part in the plan was she told him it would be revealed in good time.
Morgan attempted to tempt Tristan into betraying the Knights by offering to transform him back into a man, but she failed at first. Morgan instructed Matthew to hire a woman named Claire Locklyn as his assistant. Locklyn was the reincarnation of Tristan's love Isolde, and Morgan was engineering a meeting between them so Tristan would be further motivated to regain his male form.
Arthur announced that he would marry Commander Joan Acton, the reincarnation of Guinevere, on the floor of the United Nations Building. Matthew plotted to have the resurrected McAllister assassinate Arthur during the ceremony, but he missed and hit Guinevere instead. The knights battled McAllister and, while McAllister was duelling Tristan, Morgan restored Locklyn's memories of her life as Isolde. The knights killed McAllister again, but as Morgan intended Isolde ran up to embrace Tristan, so he would be further tempted to betray the Round Table.
Many of the knights were wounded by their fight with McAllister and so Matthew attempted to order another assault on New Camelot while they were weakened but Morgan stopped him, saying that Arthur was now suspicious of the U.N. She allowed Matthew to send some aliens to attack Arthur while he an the knights liberated political dissidents from a prison camp in Australia, but the knights successfully repelled that attack too.
However, forces beyond Matthew's control served to weaken the knights further. First, Guinevere resumed her affair with Lancelot, and Arthur banished them from New Camelot. He then fell into a deep depression, refusing to stir from his throne for days. As the knights became increasingly restless Sir Kay, at Morgan's urging, decided to destroy an amulet which Merlin used to keep his former apprentice Nyneve at bay, hoping that seeing her threaten Merlin would rouse Arthur from his funk. Nyneve kidnapped Merlin, leaving the knights without the support of his magic or his ability to warn them of danger.
Matthew and Morgan sent a fleet of alien ships to attack New Camelot, while they watched using her crystal ball. Morgan directly controlled one ship to shoot Arthur in the back, hoping to decapitate the knights in one stroke. However, Kay and Arthur's squire Tom jumped in front of the blast, saving Arthur. Kay was killed instantly while Tom was severely injured and left with radiation poisoning that would kill him in mere days. Arthur declared that he would find the Holy Grail to save Tom's life and at those words Morgan ordered their forces to immediately withdraw. Enraged, Matthew asked why she had pulled back when they were on the cusp of victory, and she told him that she needed the Grail to cure her disease, and would not kill the knights until they had found it.
Morgan eagerly watched the knights discuss the quest for the Grail, but Arthur had them all don amulets that Merlin had created which blocked her ability to spy on them. She demanded that Matthew use his resources to track the knights and, recognising that she was desperate, agreed only on the condition that she reveal his place in her schemes. Morgan restored his memories of his life as Modred; this made him personally hate Arthur when he had not before, but also made him more confident in his ability to oppose Morgan herself.
Aliens guarding Glastonbury Tor reported to Morgan that a party of the knights had come searching for the Grail and Modred dispatched some U.N. forces to steal the Grail once the knights found it. His soldiers attacked both the knights and aliens and stole the Grail away, then delivered it to him personally. Morgan demanded that he hand it over but Modred refused, saying that he was now the one giving the orders. Morgan had no choice but to obey him, as he now had the upper hand between them.
Modred had the Grail melted down to make a suit of armour which made him effectively immortal when he wore it. Morgan begged Modred to heal her but he refused, recognising that he could only control her while she was weakened by her disease. He and Morgan killed the four major world leaders he had been secretly dealing with and framed Arthur for the murders. With the leaders dead, Modred was now the de-facto ruler of Earth. Meanwhile Arthur had stolen the last rocket on Earth and flown to the alien's home plant Chiron on the furthest edges of the Solar System. Morgan teleported them to Chiron and her castle on the planet where Merlin was being held under an enchantment by Nyneve.
A small force of knights lead by Lancelot infiltrated the castle looking for Merlin and the Grail. Modred confronted Lancelot and battled him. Despite Lancelot's greater skill with a sword, the armour meant that Modred was invincible and he was able to seriously wound Lancelot. Meanwhile, Arthur lead a frontal assault on the castle, and the knights were able to break through the walls by blowing up their spaceship. Arthur and the others found Modred about to deliver the killing blow to Lancelot and Modred duelled his father. The fight spilled into Morgan's throne room where Merlin was held. Lancelot yelled to Arthur that Merlin's demonic magic and the Grail's holy power might react with each other and so Arthur threw Modred at Merlin. When the Grail armour touched Merlin it exploded with a burst of power, killing Modred instantly.
