Synopsis for "The Monkey King and I, Part 4 of 4"

An army of skeleton demons find King Fire Bull imprisoned in his globe on an uncharted island in the Atlantic Ocean. Their leader breaks him out and tells him that they have a common enemy: Monkey Prince.

In Metropolis, Marcus and Pigsy are helping Supergirl clean up the damage from the Lazarus Storm. Suddenly Shellestriah, the daughter of the Trench King who once tried to eat Marcus, appears on the scene. Marcus swings at her with Jingu Bang, but she blocks it and says she doesn't want to fight. She asks Pigsy to teach her how to overcome her baser nature, and Pigsy immediately accepts over Marcus's reservations.

The skeleton demons appear out of the sky and attack the group. Marcus initially assumes Shellestriah is behind it, but realises she isn't when one of them attacks her too and uses his magic cloud to save her. Supergirl is unable to resist the demons's magic and Marcus creates a batch of clones to fight off the demons attacking her, revealing that he has mastered the Hair-Into-Clones after receiving tutoring from the Monkey King. The clones overpower and destroy the demons, then narcissistically congratulate and compliment each other.

The severed heads of the demons laugh at Marcus and tell him that he is himself a clone of the Monkey King, one of his hairs changed into a clone that refused to change back. The disparate body parts of the demons join together into a single giant creature while Marcus and the clones panic over whether it could be true, and suddenly realise they cannot tell which one of them is the original anymore. The demons grab Supergirl and fly away while they are distracted. The demons take Supergirl to Lazarus Island, where King Fire Bull starts to drain her qi and her "Immortal Power of Strength". As he does, the demon's leader siphons off some for herself without him noticing.

Pigsy and Shellestriah follow the demons, bringing along the seven versions of Marcus who are deep into an identity crisis. They loose them when the demons reach the Atlantic Ocean and so Shellestriah dives in to try and detect and blood Supergirl may have spilled into the water. While she is doing that, Pigsy yells at the Monkey Princes to get them to sit down and be quiet, then has them meditate on their earliest memories. They remember coming through the portal from the Phantom Zone as a baby, but Pigsy tells them to push past that memory, and they remember Darkseid's face. Pigsy tells Marcus that he was indeed created during the Monkey King's battle against Apokolips, and when Sun Wukong fled to the Phantom Zone he and the other clones followed him. The other clones reverted to hairs when they arrived but Marcus refused to and instead hid from Monkey King in a rock, taking the form of a human baby. Pigsy tells Marcus that a normal clone would never do what he had done, and that he was more than just a copy of the Monkey King.

The Marcus's asks which one of him is the original and Pigsy tells him to now dwell on his memories of his life as a human, and all the experiences that made him who he is. Marcus says none of the matters if he is just a hair but Pigsy tells him that he needs to choose to believe he is real. Marcus says that he does and revert to human form while the clones disappear. He thanks Pigsy and hugs him.

Meanwhile on the island, Supergirl manages to break away from King Fire Bull and tries to run. She gets as far as the beach before he catches her and he tries to drown her. Her blood seeps into the water, allowing Shellestriah to pick up her scent. She leads them to the island and they defeat the skeleton demons while a band of Marcus's clones overpower King Fire Bull. Marcus wants to kill him as revenge for what he did to his mother and Black Alice, but Pigsy asks him if he wants to be defined by murder. Marcus realises he is right and they trap King Fire Bull back in his globe. Supergirl thanks them for saving her, and the demon leader slips away unnoticed, having absorbed some of Supergirl's power.

Winston and Laura both make full recoveries and the Shugel-Shen's have dinner with Gerard. Marcus reflects that he still has problems in his life, but no matter what, he is still the "motherflippin' Monkey Prince".
