Founded in 1803, Monument Point is a large metropolis within easy commuting distance of Washington, DC. It has a higher-than-average rate of crime, but it is a moderately-pleasant place to live.

History

During the Brightest Day, it was attacked by a being known as "Scythe", who had some grievance with someone or something in the city, and he was willing to tear up the CBD to get their attention. The Justice Society of America stepped in and captured him, but the property damage from the fight was so catastrophic that the team decided to stay in the city to help it get back on its feet.

Shortly after, a villain known as Dr. Chaos was hired by a U.S. senator to make the Justice Society leave the city. Dr. Chaos killed the mayor and terrorized the populace with "microbombs" implants that were distributed through the city's water reservoir. He was ultimately defeated by the JSA, and the superteam officially adopted Monument Point as its new hometown. The Flash was declared the Mayor of Monument Point by the City Council.
