Synopsis for Doctor Fate: "The Man Who Wanted No Medals"
Kent Nelson continues his work as an intern at the Free Clinic and thanks to his great performance, he is invited to the ceremony where a notable doctor called Paul Lawrence would receive a medal for his accomplishments. However, Lawrence refuses to take the medal and not long afterwards, Lawrence leaves town. Believing something is amiss, Kent Nelson follows Lawrence to Illinois as Doctor Fate.
Fate soon learns that Lawrence is helping an older doctor from a small town, which confuses Fate even further. At that moment, a criminal gang make their getaway, after robbing a bank, and one of their members has been shot. The crooks drive to the elderly doctor's place, where they kidnap the man and drag him to their hideout, hoping to save their associate.
Doctor Fate confronts the crooks and captures them for good, but the old doctor is shot. Fate takes the man to Lawrence, who operates and saves the man's life. It is then that Fate learns of Lawrence's connection to the elderly doctor, and their family issues. After things are cleared, the older doctor recovers and claims his rightful medals.
