Synopsis for "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe: Beginnings"

The monstrous entity called Dark Kahn - created from the fusion of SHao Kahn, the evil ruler of Outworld, and Darksied, the evil ruler of Apokolips, takes birth in a dimension somewhere between the Mortal Kombat universe and that of Darkseid. Dark Kahn initially struggles with a flood of memories, including where Superman had struck Darkseid with his heat vision and Raiden had attacked Shao Kahn. He also struggles with the new unfamiliar energy he has been imbued with.

Emerging on the merged realm of Apokolips and Outworld, he finds the Mortal Kombat universe and Darkseid's home universe are linked, but still aren't one. Dark Kahn proceeds to absorb the energies that created him, but is struck with immense pain. As he strikes the newly formed realm, the universes start merging and his rage travels to both universes. This results in many vanishing from existence, including - Aquaman, Goro, Johnny Cage and Robin. Some are transported to the other universes and some are infected by Dark Kahn's Kombat Rage.

Kano upon being transported to Gotham City encounters Flash, who has been infected by the Kombat Rage. In the Outworld, Kitana searches for the people who have gone missing, but after being infected by the rage, attacks the Edenian Resistance soldiers accompanying her. As more succumb to the Kombat Rage, the merging of the universes quickens. Dark Kahn however realizes that Raiden, the god of thunder, and Captain Marvel, a champion imbued with power of gods on Darkseid's universe, have sensed him, but declares that they won't be able to stop him.

As the two universes successfully merge, Shan Tsung's Island merges with Themyscira. As he and his Tarkatan Horde encounter Wonder Woman and the Amazons, Dark Kahn influences his mind and makes him attack the Amazons. In the Fortress of Solitude, Superman fights Sub-Zero after finding him there, but is soon defeated since Dark Kahn's emergence has weakened him. In other locations, those who are supposed to be normal humans gain great powers and fight each other endlessly due to the Kombat Rage. Dark Kahn gloats that their battles will ensure his success.
