Mother Herrae was the matriarch of the Primitives, a race of New Gods living on the jungles of New Genesis.

History

Living separated from the inhabitants of the "Celestial City," the Primitives blamed the "Sky Gods" for causing a plague when Darkseid and Orion violated The Source. Even during that crisis, Herrae remained impartial and focused on tending to the sick, even though the rest of the Primitives wanted to wage war with the New Genesisians. When war broke loose between the Primitives and the Sky Gods, Mother Herrae sensed that the continuous conflict would eventually reawaken the Old God S'ivaa, a long-forgotten monster also known as the Destroyer of Worlds.
